Information about the

LIVESTOCK BUSINESS

Our farm has a long tradition of Charolais breeding and the breeding stock trading. Our livestock is primarily breeding stock, meaning we strive to both nurture and strengthen the characteristics required of breeding animals through breeding selection - good maternal qualities, good growth ability and good and durable structure.

All our selling bulls are polled and they have been genome tested, i.e. genotyped. Through the genome testing, their poll status and hereditary diseases have been determined by DNA testing. All selling bulls are free of Charolais hereditary diseases, i.e. they do not carry progressive ataxia (marked "PAF" in the DNA data) or blindness caused by the RP1 gene (marked "RP1F" in the DNA data). All bulls have been born from genome tested parents, which means their lineage has also been confirmed. Thanks to genome testing, the bulls also have genomic breeding values, which makes the judging certainty better than before.

In the spring 2025, Nordic breeding values were published for beef cattle alongside national breeding values. Both national indices and Nordic NAV- indices are presented on each sales bull's page.

The genetic poll status of the bulls has shown as follows: POS= homozygous polled, POC= heterozygous polled. Note that the scurs are inherited differently than normal horns. Bull with the scurs is very often genotyped as POC.

The bulls have been conformation classificated by a professional judge. Naturally each bull are selling with a herdbook number. We have done lots of livestock business during the decades and we are experienced in foreign trade.

Our cattle has tested by M. Bovis (status A) and all the other infectious diseaseof bovines, and all the test have been clear.
